When it came to finding a bridal hairdo, it was a little tough because as much as I love my super huge natural afro, I didn't want my hair to be the center of attention on my wedding day. I love braids, but I knew that I didn't want to rock braids either. What's a natural afronista to do? Rock tree braids, of course. If you don't know what they are, you will....... after checking out the fabulous tree braids at Strands of Beauty ( http://www.strandsofbeauty.com/).
During the week of the wedding, the uber and ultra fabulous owner of Strands of Beauty, Etene did a stunning job tree-braiding my hair. Etene gave me a micro-braids, extra small, extra long, full body human hair do and I have to admit.........I was in love! Check out Strands of beauty at http://www.strandsofbeauty.com/. They are located in Atlanta, but the stylists travel around to various other states every other month for hair appointments.

The next day, I finger combed it for the rehearsal dinner and it still looked fab and fresh.

And finally on our wedding day, Stephanie from Andre Chreky Salon Spa ( http://www.andrechreky.com/) did a super stylish job with my 'updo.' I loved the fullness, the curls and everthing about it. Here are a few amateur shots from my very crappy camera................... Please, please, please ignore the pink comfort socks... :-)

Here are a few photos that show Stephanie's awesome styling (from different angles) staying in place all night through all the hours of hardcore dancing, partying and a dress change! Love your work, Stephanie!

In case you were wondering what I meant by hardcore dancing all night, here you go................
And the style lasted way beyond the wedding day and night. The next day, I rocked it again at my mum's wedding brunch.

And, oh no, that wasn't the end of the story. Two days later when I arrived in Hawaii, I decided it was time to take out those pesky hair pins and let my hair down. And, how happy was I to see all this fabulous thick, wavy hair, thanks to those glam curls by Stephanie.........
